This week we are learning more about conjunctions and combining sentences during our grammar time. We will be taking spelling and grammar quizzes on Thursday, due to the field trip on Friday.
Speaking of, Friday we will be traveling to Naper Settlement! The students will have the chance to see what some of the buildings and jobs were like in colonial Naperville. The Blacksmith, Print Shop, Post Office, Mansion, and One-Room School House are among some of the interesting places we will get to see. Students do need to bring a sack lunch that day. They should also wear comfortable gym shoes and dress for the weather. We go rain or shine. If it does rain, we will still be walking from building to building outside, so ponchos/raincoats are encouraged. Please do not send your child with an umbrella. Also, absolutely no cell phones or cameras on the trip.
As the weather has been up and down, I encourage all students to bring layers to the classroom. First thing in the morning it has been a little chilly in here, but warms up by the end of the day. The air conditioning is still on in the building, so sweatshirts are a good thing!
Have a wonderful week!
