Next up, we will be testing which materials will best insulate against heat loss. We will use control materials first, then students will be designing their own insulated water bottles. We will have materials available in the classroom, but students are also encouraged to think outside the box and bring in any other materials they think may be effective for our experiment on Thursday 10/1. Please note that the items will most likely get wet during the experiment, so please discuss these materials before students bring them in.
For MY CLASS ONLY: We will be adjusting our spelling, vocabulary, and grammar schedule next week. Friday we will be at Naper Settlement 9:15am-2:15pm, and then have art at 2:40pm. For this reason, grammar packets and vocabulary practice will be due on WEDNESDAY 9/30, and all quizzes will be on THURSDAY 10/1.
Students have been keeping paper reading logs this week. They should be filling them in at home and at school so we can examine reading habits, stamina, and pacing next week. Students should have their completed logs here at school on Tuesday, September 29 (this is in addition to their electronic logs and reading responses they should still be completing).
Picture Day is Wednesday, September 30th and we have many trips, switch schedule days, and days off coming up, so please be sure to check out the "Important Dates" tab on the website!
Enjoy the gorgeous weekend!!
