Please remember to complete the form here to let us know your child’s plans for lunch on Halloween by Monday afternoon if you have not already done so. This will help us to ensure your child is safe and accounted for on this exciting day!
Please remember these guidelines that were sent home about appropriate costumes:
What are the costume guidelines for school?
As you are planning for your child’s costume for our Halloween celebration, please remember that we are a kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school. Costumes that may be deemed appropriate for older children or adults can be quite frightening to younger children. School-appropriate costumes should not include sharp objects, weapons, blood, unnecessary gore, or anything violent or immodest in nature. Students may not bring any type of toy or real weapon (knife, gun, sword, light saber, claw, hooks, etc.) as an accessory to their costume. As a school, we model respect and acceptance, so please avoid costumes that target any ethnic group or conveys hatred towards any individual. Please help us by selecting costumes that are safe and provide mobility.

With Halloween on Wednesday, we are coaching the kids on planning ahead to be sure their assignments are completed for Thursday. Your help in encouraging this is greatly appreciated!

- Students with class numbers 1-12 have their next reading response letters due Friday, November 2nd. These letters should be completed in students' reading response spreadsheets in their school Google accounts by 9am on Friday.
-My math class has just begun Chapter 3 in math. We will be focusing on fractions throughout this chapter. Some of the IXL strands that will be helpful for extra practice are: K1-K11; L1-L22.
-Information about how to connect to your child’s SeeSaw account were sent home earlier this week. There is information about how to create an account as well as how to link to your child if you had previously set up an account. Please let me know if you have any questions about this!
- Our first Robert Crown session will be November 6. Permission slips will be coming home this week in your student’s Friday folder indicating your preference for your child’s participation. Please return these slips as soon as possible, as we will be beginning pre-session activities for The Science Behind Drugs and Prevention on Wednesday, October 31. We understand the district parent meeting with more information about Robert Crown will not take place until after our Science Behind Drugs and Prevention program, so if you have any questions about this program that you would like answered before completing your permission slip, please do not hesitate to contact me.
-Sandra created a fun, uplifting plan for the class called Secret Pumpkin! We started on Wednesday and will continue to surprise our secret pumpkins with little notes until Halloween, when we will share who each person had as their Secret Pumpkin! You can see what we have been working on here.
Please let me know if you have any questions and have a wonderful weekend!
