This week is a normal vocabulary and grammar week. Sentences will be due Tuesday, practice questions and the grammar packet will be due Thursday, and the quizzes will be on Friday.
Numbers 11-19 have a reading log due on Friday, 11/3.
We will have a mid-unit fiction quiz on Wednesday. This quiz will cover story elements, theme, character development, conflict, finding word meaning, and using text evidence to support answers. We have been covering all of this throughout the year and have focused on these skills and concepts even more closely over the past 2 weeks. We will review in class, but students can also review all handouts and notes in their binder to prepare for the quiz.
My math class has the Chapter 2 retake test (for those eligible) on Monday, 10/31. We will officially begin Chapter 3 this week, which will focus on fractions.
Our Earth in Space unit is off and running! We plan to give the final test on 11/9 or 11/10. We will finish up some lessons and review before then, but there are already some videos posted on Edmodo if students would like to review anything we have covered in class so far.
Students have begun working in class on a personal narrative. We will continue to work on these in class, and they will be due by Wednesday, November 8th at the latest.
On Halloween, students should not come dressed in their costumes. Any students not going home for lunch will have time to change and get ready for the parade and party after eating lunch. If anything has changed with your child's plan for Halloween, please be sure to let me know as soon as possible! If your child is staying for lunch, please note that there is no hot lunch that day. 2 Zip lunch options will still be available for students wishing to order a lunch that day.
You child should have brought home the form with your scheduled conference time on it this past week. Please be sure to review the date and time and let me know as soon as possible if there is any issue or conflict with the scheduled time.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions! Have a great week!
