- First trimester progress reports will be sent home via backpack mail on Friday, November 20th at the end of the school day. Progress reports may be picked up in the office by the parent after November 20th.
- November 20th is also Tie-Dye Day! Students are encouraged to wear tie-dye or a mixture of brightly colored clothes to show their school spirit.
- A flier was attached to the Dolphin Splash newsletter from Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, Aimee LeBlanc, regarding state-mandated sexual abuse prevention education based on “Erin’s Law”. Informational presentations for parents will be given on December 1 & 3, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the AHSD25 Administration Building. Please be sure to review this information.
- Conferences will be held Monday, November 23rd from 8:15am-7:45pm and Tuesday, November 24th from 8:15am-11:45am. I leave it up to parents whether or not to bring their kids to the conferences. I see great value in students being a part of the conversation, but also respect when parents would like to have an adult conversation about their child's progress. Please make the decision best for you based upon your comfort level/what you would like to cover during the conference.
- This week we will be studying the Declaration of Independence, now that we know all the events that led up to it.
- We will begin our unit on division in math this week. This includes multiplication and division fact families, long division, and interpreting remainders.
- In reading we will be comparing two texts that cover the Navajo Code Talkers of WWII. We will look at similarities and differences in the text structure, text features, and information we learn from each. We will then be using that knowledge to continue to practice responding to text-based prompts using evidence to support our thoughts.
- We are back to a normal week of grammar, vocabulary, and spelling. Our vocabulary prefix is "bi-" and we will continue learning about possessive and plural nouns in grammar.
