Our class will be doing a special "10 Days of Kindness" activity throughout these last two weeks of school before break (Thanks to Mrs. Melton for the idea!). Each student has randomly & secretly pulled the name of another student to bestow little acts of kindness on each day. Here is the schedule we will be using. This will culminate in a used book exchange. We are asking each student to bring in a used book they no longer need to gift to their secret buddy on the last day. We do not want anyone going out to buy any new books, the idea is to spread kindness, joy, and a love for reading without spending money. If anyone does not have a used book they can part with, they can let me know and I will help secure a gently used book for anyone who needs it. The kids are SO excited about this opportunity to spread some kindness and holiday cheer!
This week we will have a normal vocabulary and grammar routine. Vocabulary sentences are due Tuesday, practice questions and grammar packets are due on Thursday, and quizzes will be on Friday. Next week (12/18-12/22) we will take a break from vocabulary and grammar until we return after winter break.
Students should have their grades for their fiction tests on Edmodo. This upcoming week any student who scored an 80% or lower on the test will have the opportunity to complete test corrections for partial credit back on their score. These corrections will be due by the end of the week.
We have finished our chapter on the Revolutionary War in history, but students can still submit the optional extra research on Edmodo for bonus points until December 21st.
All Revolutionary War novels are now wrapping up. Students will have a test on their assigned novel on Monday, December 18th and should be working on an ABC book that is due December 20th. ABC Books may be completed on paper or with GoogleSlides.
Please remember to send in your permission slip for the "Freedom Riders" play we will be attending in February. These are due by Friday 12/15!
Please let me know if you have any questions! Have a wonderful week!
